ITHACA, N.Y.? ? The Cornell track and field teams hit the road this weekend for the Sykes-Sabock Challenge in State College, Pa., on Saturday. The meet will be the Big Red's second trip to Penn State this season.

The Big Red will face a number of talent squads and multiple teams it has faced already this season. Included in the competition are Binghamton, Buffalo, Connecticut (men only), Jacksonville, James Madison, Liberty, Lock Haven, Penn, Princeton, South Florida, UNC-Wilmington and Virginia along with the host Nittany Lions. Penn State is No. 12 in the country on the men's side.

Competition will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with the women's 60-meter hurdles for the pentathlon and the women's weight throw. Competition will continue throughout the day with the final race ? the 4x400 relays ? going off at 6:35 and 6:50 p.m.

At last year's Sykes-Sabock Challenge, Cornell's women took second place out of 16 teams, only falling behind the host Nittany Lions. Molly Glantz (600), Genna Hartung (3K), Alyssa O'Connor (mile) and Rachel Sorna (5K) all won their events.

This is the 12th consecutive year that Cornell heads to Penn State for a scored meet in February.

The Big Red men were fourth out of 14 in 2012, when Stephen Bell (long jump) and Dan Hagberg (60 hurdles) claimed event wins.

Portions of the Big Red teams will also be competing at the Ithaca College Invitational over the weekend.
