Israeli websites back up after 'malfunction'

An Israeli official says the government has fixed the problem that caused several official websites to go down.

A spokeswoman for the Finance Ministry said Monday that "all the sites are up and working again as normal." She said a technical malfunction had caused the sites to go down, but refused to elaborate. She spoke on condition of anonymity according to government protocol.

Several official sites including that of the Israeli military, the Shin Bet intelligence services and others went down Sunday.

Israel has denied speculation that it was victim of a cyber attack by pro-Palestinian hackers. There were no verified claims of sabotage against the websites.
