Her first wedding dress drew oohs and aahs, but after the formal ceremony Friday, the new Princess Catherine changed into another stunner for the evening reception at Buckingham Palace (pictured, above, next to her new mother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles).
The second wedding gown was an ivory-colored satin gazar strapless evening gown with a circle skirt and diamante detailing around the waist. She topped it off with an angora sweater shrug.
The new duchess of Cambridge kept the look simple, with no necklace or bracelet, and also ditched the diamond tiara she had borrowed earlier in the day from Queen Elizabeth II. She wore her brown locks down with big loose curls.
Like the first gown, the second was also designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
Middleton, 29, wasn't the only one who changed outfits for the nighttime dinner and dance reception for 300 guests. Her sister, Pippa Middleton, 28, switched to an emerald green sleeveless gown with a plunging neckline and jeweled detailing by designer Alice Temperley.
Meanwhile, groom Prince William also made a swap, leaving behind the Irish Guards uniform he wore at the ceremony and donning a black double-breasted tuxedo.
If anyone was less than thrilled with the daytime ensembles -- 47 percent of iVillagers thought it was "just okay" -- the evening formalwear more than made up for it.
Now that the big day is over, the Duke and Duchess return to a normal life -- well, as normal as a being a royal can be. They have decided to forgo a honeymoon right away, instead spending just the weekend together in the U.K. before the prince returns to work next week as a search and rescue pilot.
