MilitaryRecords.us.org To Track Active Duty Status Of Reservists

Reports to include information beyond current members of the armed services.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 20, 2013

MilitaryRecords.us.org is going to start including the active duty status of members of the Army, Navy and Air Force reserves as part of their public records search packages, company officials said yesterday.

Until now, the records provided by the company were focused on members of the traditional armed forces and not on the status of reservists, the company said. The database expansion is the result of reserve units having been involved in various tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The move serves two purposes, the company said: It will give reserve unit members who have seen combat the same status as full-time members of the military, and it will allow employers who are considering hiring reservists the chance to check their status as combat veterans.

It will also allow reservists themselves the chance to verify that their own military records are accurate and up to date, the company said.

Including the records means that the company has had to add additional servers and bring on temporary IT staff in order to update the database, the company said. It took roughly three week to incorporate the new information into the database. Information will also be updated when a service member completes his or her tour of duty in the regular armed forces yet maintains reserve status.
